Who's behind this

Reel Cartography started from a fairly ordinary frustration: most casino comparison pages read like they were written to sell you something, not to actually help you choose. We wanted something closer to a field guide — clear about what each operator does well, honest about where it's thin, and upfront about how the site itself is funded.

We are not a casino. We don't hold a gambling licence, we don't take bets, and no money ever passes through us in either direction. Our job starts and ends with looking at publicly available information about UK-licensed operators — their game range, their live casino setup, their apps — and setting it out clearly enough that you can make your own call.

The mobile-and-apps angle isn't a gimmick. Most people we know play from their phone, on the sofa or on a commute, not sat at a desktop. So that's the lens the whole comparison is built around, alongside the standard checks — licensing, game range, support — that any decent review should cover.

How the site actually makes money

Short version: affiliate commissions. When you follow a link from this site and sign up with an operator, we may be paid a commission by that operator. It costs you nothing extra, and it's the only way this site earns anything — there's no subscription, no paywall, no data sold on the side.

The important bit is that commission doesn't buy a better score. Every operator we list is checked against the same eight criteria regardless of what they pay us, and we've been just as direct about the operators with a thinner mobile offering as about the stronger ones. If that ever changed, the comparisons wouldn't be worth reading, and we'd rather not publish them than pretend otherwise. Full detail is on our affiliate disclosure page.

Who this site is — and isn't — for

This is for someone who already knows they want to play at a UK-licensed casino and wants a clear-eyed comparison before picking one — particularly if mobile play matters to them. It's not a guide to whether you should gamble at all, and it's not the place to come if you're looking for guaranteed outcomes, because there aren't any.

If gambling has stopped being something you can take or leave, this probably isn't the page you need right now — our responsible gambling page has UK-specific support that's a better starting point.
